The Minnesota Vikings have taken UAB quarterback Joe Webb in the sixth round of the NFL draft.

Webb may make the move to receiver in the NFL. He played the position as a sophomore with the Blazers and at the Senior Bowl.

The 6-foot-3, 226-pound Webb is the first quarterback in NCAA history to pass for 2,000 yards and rush for 1,000 yards in back-to-back seasons.

Webb caught 30 passes for 459 yards and three touchdowns as a sophomore receiver before moving to quarterback for his final two seasons at UAB.
