Fanny Brice (October 29, 1891 – May 29, 1951) was a popular and influential American illustrated song “model,” comedienne, singer, theatre and film actress, who made many stage, radio and film appearances but is best remembered as the creator and star of the top-rated radio comedy series, The Baby Snooks Show. Thirteen years after her death, she was portrayed on the Broadway stage by Barbra Streisand in the musical Funny Girl and its 1968 film adaption.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Corey Haim, a Hollywood teen star of the 1980s who became as famous for his struggles with substance abuse as his acting, died in Los Angeles of an apparent drug overdose, police said on Wednesday. He was 38.

Haim, who rose to the fame alongside fellow teen star Corey Feldmanand became known for his hard partying ways, was pronounced dead at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in the Los Angeles suburbof Burbank early on Wednesday, according to Los Angeles police.

“It was an apparent overdose,” said Sergeant Frank Albarren of the Los Angeles Police Department’s North Hollywood Station, adding the “type of medication” was unknown.
