College Student Fined $675,000 For Downloading Music
by Dank Kush on Apr.01, 2011, under Misc
Joel Tenenbaum, a Boston University Graduate student, just got charged $675,000 for getting caught downloading songs off Napster. Who still uses Napster or Limewire anyways? And this lame dude on CNN keeps trying to be an asshole and tries to compare downloading songs of the internet is the same thing as stealing a CD from a store.
It’s 2009, songs are going to get leaked and people are going to download them. If artists want to stop this from happening then keep your music closer to yourself, watch the people around you, and capitalize off the potential that the internet can bring you as an artist.
Bruce Springsteen, Wilco Soar At Bonnaroo
by Dank Kush on Feb.01, 2011, under Rap News
Bruce Springsteen on Saturday night found himself in a position he probably can’t remember last being in: having to preach to the not necessarily converted.
Springsteen and the E Street Band’s headlining slot at Bonnaroo was only the band’s second-ever festival date – the first being Pinkpop in Holland just weeks ago – and instead of proving it all night to a sea of older faces comfortable reporting back every syllable of every song, Springsteen arrived to a crowd that needed some background. “The mighty E Street Band is here tonight and we’re going to do everything we can to bring down the power of the music on you,” he preached during “Working on a Dream,” and spent the remainder of his nearly three-hour, 28-song set doing absolutely that.
Eagles, Weezer, Aguilera To Launch 24-Hour Online Radio Shows
by Dank Kush on Jan.29, 2011, under Rap News
Clear Channel Radio and Front Line Management are creating artist personal experience (a.p.e.) radio, a stand-alone company that will allow musicians to produce their own online radio shows. The channels will run 24 hours a day and play songs chosen by the artist, interviews and commentary. The program will launch in July with the Eagles, Christina Aguilera and Weezer.
That’s a pretty cool idea, don’t ya think? Now you can see what’s their favorite selections of music.
IntelliGender Tells You If It’s A Boy Or Girl
by Dank Kush on Jan.21, 2011, under Misc
Expecting moms can determine whether they’re carrying a boy or a girl as early as 10 weeks after conception, according to an over-the-counter gender prediction test by a Plano, Texas, company.
IntelliGender makes a gender prediction test. If a urine specimen turns orange, it’s a girl. Green is for boys.
It claims that within 10 minutes of taking the urine test, a mother will be able to tell her baby’s gender. The specimen will turn green if it’s a boy, and orange if it’s a girl.
IntelliGender would not say what hormones or chemicals it uses it in its test because of a pending patent.
Good. Finally this will save people an unnecessary trip to the doctors.

Former Charmed sister Holly Marie Combs delivered a baby boy last month and it flew under the radar.
Combs, 35, kept her third pregnancy with husband David Donoho a secret because the birth was high-risk. Kelley James Donoho was born at the 35-week mark of Comb’s term and delivered via emergency C-section.
“We didn’t feel comfortable making any announcements until everyone was home healthy,” Combs told Celebrity Baby Blog.
The baby is now home, joining brothers Riley Edward 2, and Finley Arthur, 5.

New Jersey Police Officer Beats Man On Tape
by Dank Kush on Jan.17, 2011, under World News
Surveillance video shows a Passaic, New Jersey, police officer beating a 49-year-old man standing idly on a street corner. Surveillance tape from Lawrence’s Grill and Bar in Passaic on May 29 shows a police car pull up to Ronnie Holloway, who is standing still on the curb outside the restaurant. After a few moments Holloway zips up his sweatshirt — because the female officer in the car instructed him to do so, Holloway said.
At that point, the other officer in the vehicle, Joseph R. Rios III, exits the car, grabs Holloway and slams him onto the hood of the police car. He then pummels Holloway with his fist and baton. Holloway said he had exchanged no words with the officer before he pounced on him.
After the incident, police locked Holloway in a holding cell for the night and did not provide treatment for his injuries, according to Holloway’s attorney, Nancy Lucianna. Those injuries included a torn cornea and extensive bruising to the left side of his body, she said.
That’s pretty messed up, and then you wonder why no one likes cops.
150 Feet Dragonfly Crop Circle
by Dank Kush on Jan.15, 2011, under World News
A dragonfly the size of a dragon has landed in a farmer’s field – in the second astonishing animal-style crop circle to appear this week.
The intricate 150ft insect pattern appeared overnight in a barley field near Yatesbury, Wiltshire, just days after a jellyfish design was mysteriously cut into crops in Oxfordshire.
But now the arrival of the dragonfly suggests these two designs may herald a summer of crop circles highlighting environmental issues.
If aliens are responsibile for this, then I don’t get it. Why would they keep making crop circles of insects? Why not use words and try and communicate? It’s pretty weird.
